We have developed a fertility program that utilizes both the tools and philosophical approaches of Naturopathic and Chinese medicine. While anatomical or physiological issues that make conception unlikely do exist, we believe these circumstances are rare, and in most cases are not the true causes of "infertility".
In many cases, the reasons that conception has been difficult for a couple go beyond just the organs and physiology of reproduction. From a Naturopathic perspective, the likelihood of conception is increased when the whole system is well. Therefore, all health concerns should be addressed, improving the bodies systems from head to toe, resulting in greater vitality overall.
From the Chinese medical persepective, all energetic blockages must be addressed, allowing for the free movement of vital Qi (pronounced "chee") throughout the body and organs of reproduction. This is effectively accomplished through Acupuncture treatments and herbal formulas.
Throughout this treatment program we also nurture healing of the mind and heart, and have seen first hand that emotional and spiritual healing can be a very important step towards conception. We have worked with couples who have been through rigorous infertility treatments, have set deadlines for themselves, and ultimately created a great deal of additional stress in their lives. This is an emotional environment not conducive to conceiving a child!
Our approach is a combination of revitalizing the body physiologically and energetically, while also helping couples work through any emotional or spiritual issues preventing conception. Above all is the reminder and recognition of the deeply sacred process that conception and birth are all about.
